Westbound Eola, IL, to Fort Collins, CO, loaded sand train passes the small town of Lucas in southern Iowa. This town sits at the bottom of Whitebreast Hill west of Chariton at MP 343 on the Ottumwa Sub. Lucas has a neat little park called "Burlington Park" that was established in 1996 which has a nice caboose from of one of the predecessors of this route. My kids enjoy alittle play time at the park as we seen a couple trains pass by.
