Remarks & Notes |
In March major flooding went on with the Missouri River around Omaha and south, the BNSF Creston Sub is out of service. The BNSF ran a ton of detours over the UP main thru Iowa with this closure. The UP Mainline thru Iowa has always been ATC cab signal territory meaning only UP type equipment has ever lead. With these detours a wavier was put out and anything was a go for a leader! Here we have an eastbound coal train crossing the high Cedar River on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids. The Prairie Creek Generating Station is view to the right. The train is about 78 miles from Clinton on the UP Clinton Sub. The power company has done an excellent job of making this shot garbage nowadays. |
