Remarks & Notes |
One of the bigger customer on the line west of Mason City is this AGP plant outside of Emmetsburg. This plant has been always a big producer of soybean meal and this railroad (IMRL/ICE/DME/CP) has been the primary mover of their meal. B42's crew would spent about 90 minutes here setting out 20 empties off the headend, and picking up 18 loads to the rear end. Here the crew ties onto the loads on the west wye with their whole train preparing to set the loads out and then spot empties back in. AGP is the largest cooperative soybean processor in the world according to their website. The other plant to the upper right is the Poet Ethanol Plant that is served by the UP's Estherville Sub, which also serve this AGP plant on the southside. |
