Remarks & Notes |
NS 60C with the Interstate heritage unit lugs its burden through Valley Head, AL. A nod to a much simpler era is quite obvious in the unique billboard in the left corner of the frame. It depicts 1950’s styling and artwork with the UFO. And as the 50’s gave way to the 1960’s the Andy Griffith Show debuted in October 1960. Homage is paid to it as well. By the dawn of the mid 60’s these “simpler times” would begin their slow exit to oblivion only to be found in the memories and lamentations of those whom had lived in the time before. Other things can be found in history books and the like. The 8105 carries a scheme that adorned Interstate locomotives during those days. Were it not for a few modern angles, lines and logos one could briefly feel dragged albeit temporarily to those distant times. |
