Super Chief-era Relics Prepare To Fall. The end of an era has finally arrived here in 2019 as original, Santa Fe Railway "R2" signals along the the famed Pasadena Subdivision have fallen to their replacements. Following their heavy heads being turned away to the "out of service" position, Metrolink coordinated a one-day only operation of a test train that ran between Pomona and Azusa to test the new signals. While one of the commuter rail agency's newest locomotives, an F125, had operate along this one proud route of the Super Chiefs before, this was the first time in many years a full Metrolink consist was used along this line.
