Remarks & Notes |
Into the sundown comes the 4326 West climbing the steep grade out of the Colorado River valley between Needles and Goffs. The classic Santa Fe signals that populated the Coast Lines since the 1920s were still in evidence while this remained current of traffic railroading, as was the case with much of the railroad between Seligman and Barstow and between Gallup and Winslow - but that was rapidly changing. The locomotives show off what was perhaps BNSF's best color scheme, retaining a semblance of ATSF's logo and a nod toward the GN with its orange and green. The yellow stripes really lit up in the rising and setting sun. My son is getting his own shot as we enjoy another day along the Transcon during his spring break from college. Fuji Provia F. |
