Remarks & Notes
43150 is seen with a First Great Western HST running over Cockwood Harbour in Devon. The power car carries the original Paxman Valenta engine, all of which were replaced on FGW between 2005 and 2008 with MTU V16 4000 engines as part of a life extension program. The HST's themselves are now in the final stages of being replaced by Hitachi Super Express units on long distance services between London Paddington, South Wales and the West Country with the last long distance sets scheduled to run on May 18th 2019. A number of shortened sets will be retained for local work in the South West. The shot at Cockwood Harbour was partially spoiled in 2007 when a temporary safety fence was erected along the railway. As of 2019 the fence remains in place.
