Remarks & Notes |
A trio of FCAB GR12 "Hammerheads" coast off the grade from Cumbre Pass, passing KM post 48 (From Pampa). In a few minutes the train will arrive at Prat and enter the FCAB main line.
FCAB is a meter gauge railroad that services the mining industry in northern Chile.
On the drawbars are 18 tank cars loaded with sulfuric acid bound for one of the copper mines in the region. The siding of Gaviota can be seen in the distance on the side of the hill running upgrade to the right.
FCAB 1439 was built in 1963 and has been on the FCAB roster since 2005. |
