Originally built for the SAL and then rebuilt in 1970 for the Seaboard Coast Line as SCL 01095, this caboose would end up outside CSX’s Tilford yard as focal piece for a small park next to the former L&N hump yard. With the yard now a gravel parking lot, the future for this waycar is likely a scrapper’s torch or anything that earns a few bucks for its present owner. Too bad the principles on the right side of this caboose aren’t followed, because if they were, perhaps this yard might still be in use. For those wondering, it reads: “It starts with the customer, people make the difference, safety is a way of life, fact based, right results, right way”.
