The Unlikely Journey Comes To Pass. Against all odds on June 3, 2018 that Union Pacific Railroad 1943 (Veterans, SD70AH) led a special passenger train over the Hackensack River/HX from Norfolk Southern's Croxton Yard. This trip would traverse former Erie Railroad trackage (currently NJ Transit/Metro-North/Norfolk Southern) to Campbell Hall, NY before returning. And while UP 1943 has traveled the Midwest and West Coast in recent months, this was the only chance to get it in front of the New York City skyline.
See beautiful diesel locomotives in UP's traditional armour yellow livery and special commemorative paint schemes pulling long trains of yellows cars reminiscent of the days when UP domeliners seemed to go Everywhere West.
