| Deep in the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains lies the Williams Loop. Located along the Union Pacific Canyon Subdivision, the engineered loop allows trains to descend the rugged mountain topography at a consistent 1% grade.
Union Pacific 8980 runs parallel alongside its own train as it leads a fully loaded coal drag around Williams Loop.
