Remarks & Notes |
An empty coal train out of Shelby Yard is bound for loading off this SV&E Sub. The SV&E (Sandy Valley and Elkhorn) is a short 17 miles branchline that runs out of Shelby Yard off the Big Sandy Sub towards the Myra loadout. At Esco there is another branch that runs a short distance to the Pike 29 Damron Fork mine. This is where this train is heading and is seen here twisting along Shelby Creek near Robinson Creek . The line out to Myra is pretty scenic and the light was smoking hot, but no go with the train going to the 1st mine for us! |
