Fuel oil fired 4-8-2 steamlocomotive 19D # 3322 of the South African Railway (SAR), now owned and operated by the Ceres Rail Company, is tackling the heavy grade between Bonnievale and Ashton on the former New Cape Central Railway line from Voorbaai to Worcester. A classic mixed freight/passenger consist for FarRail Tours of Bernd Seiler, perfectly organised by the Ceres Rail Company of Derrick du Toi. The 19D # 3322 was built in 1948 by the North British Locomotive Works for the South African Railways (SAR). It was of the final batch of fifty Class 19D locomotives for the SAR,, delivered in 1949 by the North British Locomotive Company (NBL) of Glasgow, Scotland and numbered in the range from 3321 to 3370. These engines were delivered with Type MX Torpedo tenders.
