A Triumphant Return: On her debut excursion, Conway Scenic Railroad's former Canadian National 0-6-0 7470 clings to the cliffs high above the valley floor as it nears "The Gateway" in Crawford's Notch on the former Maine Central Mountain Division. Behind the locomotive is a tank car serving as an auxiliary water car, newly acquired ex Burlington Dome Car "Silver Splendor," six of the railroad's "Notch Train" cars, and engines 216 and 252 a GP35 and GP38 respectively. The 7470 had been out of service since 2015, and this was its first time through the notch since 2011. It looks and sounds great after receiving its 1472 day at Conway Scenic's shops.
