A scene no longer possible. Under the starlit skies of this crisp April evening, a Norfolk Southern manifest rolls down the West Slope of the Alleghenies. On its way, the leading headlights shine bright on the classic Pennsylvania Railroad era signal bridge at Lilly. For decades, under the stewardship of 4 different railroads, these classic Position Light guided all manner of trains on the Pittsburgh Line, from the Pennsy's Broadway Limited, to Conrail's van trains, to NS's modern day services. Today, however, these signals are no more as technology's ferocious pace captured another piece of historic equipment. Forever a memory now on the West Slope.
