In the little country station of Kvarnabo, 1911-built 4-6-0 No. 24 departs after a station stop that saw no passengers get on or off. The torrential rain may have seen to that. This remnant of the once large 891 mm gauge (2' 11-1/13") Västergötland – Göteborgs Järnvägar system was running a special service for a Medieval Knights' Tournament, but the foul weather put a huge dent in ticket sales. Nonetheless, for a brief moment in time, I was able to enjoy a scene that could equally have been in 1950 as 2019, and now share it with you.
