Remarks & Notes
A three-unit set of Evansville Western locomotives lays over for the evening in Mount Vernon, Indiana, on September 28, 2017. Fifty-seven-year-old EVWR 3835 as built in September 1965 as Gulf Mobile & Ohio GP35 646. When the GM&O merged with the Illinois Central, this engine became Illinois Central Gulf 2543. It was later sold to the Paducah & Louisville (as their 2543), then to VMV, which rebuilt it to GP38-2 specifications (and numbered VMVX 3600), and it was then sold back to the PAL and numbered PAL 3600, before transferring to PAL's sister railroad Evansville Western.
