Remarks & Notes
One of the Hoosier Southern's two GP15-1 locomotives, 469, sits in the sun in Tell City, Indiana, on September 30, 2017. As is obvious from the notch in the nose, these are former Frisco locomotives, nowSitting forlornly next to the enginehouse at the former Yankeetown Dock facility at the Warrick Power Plant in Newburgh, Indiana, is Respondek Railroad Company SDP35 11, which has not operated in many years. This engine, an EMD SD35 with a steam generator on the rear; was built in August 1964 as Seaboard Air Line 1104. The merger with Atlantic Coast Line created a new identity for this engine: Seaboard Coast Line 605. SCL later renumbered it 1955, and later still it was renumbered SCL 2. When the SCL was merged with several other railroads to create Seaboard System, this engine took on its fifth identity as SBD 0002. After the SBD became part of CSX Transportation, it was renumbered CSXT 1002. Finally, the engine was sold to a company not associated with a merger that involved original owner SAL, when it became Yankeetown Docks number 11, and from there it became part of the Respondek Railroad family (which is why it is lettered for the Squaw Creek Southern).
