As the sun rises over BNSF Railway's B Yard in San Bernardino, California, the volunteers arrive to prepare the 2017 California Division Christmas Train for its two runs on December 16, 2017. BNSF ES44C4 6586 will be on the head-end for the eastbound runs from San Bernardino to the summit of Cajon Pass, and after the train reverses direction, ES44C4 6616 will lead the train back to San Bernardino. The train will be full of low-income families enjoying holiday festivities, including snacks, magicians, costumed cartoon characters, balloon animals, a clown, carolers and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, bearing gifts for each child aboard the annual train.
