In a "two for the price of one" deal, Norfolk Southern's D47 power and crew drag a 98-car loaded 402 coal train west through Farmdale on the Bloomington District past some roadside eye candy for locally grown fresh produce. Orginating down south at Foresight Energy's Shay Mine #1 near Carlinville, IL, this train will be handed off to the Iowa Interstate via TZPR at Creve Coeur for handling to Cedar Rapids, IA where ADM runs a coal-fired power plant there. The trailing three locomotives would stay with the Iowa bound coal train while the two SD40-2s would pull 23 cars of mixed interchange traffic from the TZPR and run back east for home at Good Yard in Normal.
