Found in BNSF Railway's yard in Barstow, California, on February 16, 2018, is Mobile Locomotive Services Inc. (LOCX) SW14 1453. Built by EMD in December 1949 as Illinois Central TR2A 9207A, this engine - part of a "cow and calf" set - was later renumbered 1029A. IC successor Illinois Central Gulf selected it in 1981 as part of its switcher rebuild program, and it emerged from the railroad's Paducah, Kentucky, shops as ICG SW14 1453. It would later become IC 1453 when the ICG became the IC once again, later selling this venerable locomotive to LOCX. {Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.]
