On April 21, 2018, as BNSF Railway grain train G-BARVEC1-18 heads west downgrade through Blue Cut, in Cajon Pass, BNSF train Z-SBDALT9-21 (Priority UPS - LTL Intermodal, San Bernardino, California, to Alliance, Texas) makes it was east as it heads uphill. The double-stack train is led by ES44DC 7869. Not far behind the eastbound, on the third mainline, is an eastbound Union Pacific train. Motorists at the grade crossing just to the right had a long wait as the gates stayed down for all three trains.
