As an L.A. MTA Gold Line light rail train departs the Arcadia station, it climbs a substantial grade to pass over Santa Anita Avenue. On June 24, 2018, the days are long and at 7:52 pm this train, consisting of three Ansaldo Breda P2550 light rail vehicles (with 714 up frant and 708 on the rear), is heading into the setting sun as it makes its way from Azusa to East Los Angeles. The nearby San Gabriel Mountains, which much of the Gold Line parallels, can be seen in the distance - which isn't all that distant.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
