Heading east through Hammond, Indiana, is a Canadian Pacific ethanol train. A pair of CP's recent GE rebuilds power this train, with AC4400CWM 8044 up front, and AC4400CWM 8041 as the rear Distributed Power Unit (DPU). These former AC4400CWs are being rebuilt with a new electrical cabinet and air reservoirs, the inverters changed from GTO to IGTB, the generators were replaced and the engines have been overhauled. Also, Steerable trucks replaced with Hi-Ad trucks. And, of course, new paint jobs! Canadian Pacific engines that actually look red? For now, at least...
