Normally, what trails the lead power of any train doesn't motivate me to be trackside. Q541 on July 8th, 2019 though was the rare exception to the rule. What made me come out on that day were 9 of the 10 brand-spanking new EMD SD70ACe-T4 locomotives (classified by CSX as ST70AH's) that were being delivered to Waycross to be activated to the active roster. Since they would be living down in the Waycross area for testing & who knows if CSX will actually let them stay in the active pool after testing, there's the chance that this could be my only chance to see them, & at the very least while they still looked clean, so I had to go out & see them in person. While Q541 stopped a mile north to cut off & prepare to drop off 65 cars for Wyvern Yard, a small crowd of railfans that have been out chasing or waiting for them gathered here, knowing that this would be the last chance to catch the train in good light, where we caught the attention of the Y220 crew, who called on the radio to Q541 that "their fan club" was waiting for them, & then they responded by asking what was so important about them that had people chasing them all afternoon (in a serious manner, too). It took them forever to finally get here, but at least I can say I saw them.
