A Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad local, originating in Michigan City, Indiana, heads off to work with Zeke, the conductor, riding on the lead engine as it backs across the electrified Chicago to South Bend mainline. This train will be heading west after doing a little switching south of town. Today's train ("today" being September 28, 2018) has CSS GP38-2s 2004 and 2007 for power - and, at this point, the entire train. (Zeke, who hired out with CSS in 1979, will retire in Spring 2020.)
