| The daily St. Paul to Kansas City freight train curves around the Mississippi River near the old Waukon Junction station. The train will pass over Painted Creek here and will be into Marquette in about 7 miles. The line will sneak along the bluff for the next 4 miles and this will be the last access to the tracks other than the Mississippi River from here to MP 101. At Marquette the train will do work and get a new crew. The old branch (seen at bottom center) here ran to Waukon and was abandoned in 1972. |
