| After a few days in Sturgis it was time to get back to railroading. I camped beneath a cottonwood tree beside the tracks and watched the passing of trains through the night - some with five unit sets of MRL SD70ACes cut-in mid-train, creating an impressive sound as they labored up the steep grade. Morning brought an eastbound Missoula to Laurel manifest, seen here rounding the tight curve at the old west end of Austin siding. The railroad is now double-tracked for some distance west of this point. |
