BC RAIL 4609 looks rite at home crossing the Cheakamus River. The Red-White-Blue C40-8M was built in 1990 to battle the mountains and weather of British Columbia. The GE cowls became as synonymous with this mountain railroad in British Columbia, as the EMD Tunnel Motors were to the mountainous D&RGW in Colorado. Train 570 is seen here drifting downgrade on the 2%+ grade into the Cheakamus River Canyon.
