Remarks & Notes |
"Remains of the Original IRT"
A northbound/ uptown local 1 train passes the old tunnel-way where the Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line & the now 42nd Street Shuttle tracks connected. Normal "through" trains used to use these tracks everyday up until 1918 where the Dual Contracts' "H system" was put into play, giving birth to the 42nd Street Shuttle. Soon this view will be a thing of the past, as work begins on transforming the 42nd Street Shuttle. After Track 3 is eliminated a wall will be erected forever blocking this view. |
