Geographically north (railroad west) of Laramie, Wyoming, the Union Pacific Railroad negotiates
a series of low hills. Approaching the small community of Rock River, westbound trains descend into a
valley. In the distance, some interesting cliffs enhance this scene. Note the hundreds of automobiles
following the train on adjacent US 30.
