The NS line thru the Shenandoah Valley between Roanoke and Harrisburg still has original N&W era signals. Here we have hotshot train #202 rolling thru the north end of the siding at Lewis Run. The train is carrying expedited traffic from Marion, AR, to Harrisburg, PA, and seems to be an early morning train on this line thru here. Lewis Run is 14 miles south of Shenandoah, the next crew change for 202.
The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia boasts some impressive scenery and trains, some of the best in the state. This album is for all photos taken in the Shenandoah Valley.
