A loaded sweet brand train out of Eddyville, IA, fights the .75-.80% grade into New Boston as they pass the approach signal for the Argyle crossovers in southern Iowa and pass under highway 218. Hard to believe that in 2019 an old style ex-Santa Fe signal bridges can still be found. This one and handful of others still march traffic on this busy Transcon mainline.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
