Remarks & Notes |
I heard rumors that the UP got rid of their job based in Waterloo couple weeks ago. Guess today I seen it for myself. The Iowa Northern's Oelwein Job and the Waterloo Switcher are both working customers at Armour on the northeast side of Waterloo on this Good Friday evening. This area had been served by a land locked UP local based at Waterloo on this ex-Chicago Great Western mainline that once ran from Oelwein to Kansas City. Guess the millions of dollars they were making for years with this job wasn't enough under the new stupid PSR management. The IANR now has the duties and will be very happy to get the business. The UP kept this job to service John Deeres, Tyson, and Watco Bulk Services. All 3 customers are big business and kept the UP local on ever since the CNW merger. It's amazing how big railroads don't want customers, but can't survive without them. Here the Oelwein Job spot refers at Tyson. |
