| The Coast Starlight Battles "The Loop." Amtrak 11, the Coast Starlight, makes a rare appearance on the Tehachapi Loop as it works upgrade on its southbound journey to Los Angeles while meeting a northbound BNSF manifest. The need for both Starlights to detour from their normal coast line route came following Metrolink maintenance of way crews needing an absolute work window to cut in and test new signals in Van Nuys, located north of LA in the San Fernando Valley. |
