Hanson Material Service brings 4 empties out of the Lockport plant with their SW900 in charge. My father, the late James Hart, worked for Material Service in Lockport during the 70's and 80's, and operated this same unit many times during his tenure. MSC 49-5601 wore a different paint scheme back then, but it still looks great making its way under Route 7 and out onto the Romeoville Branch, something it's done many times since 1954. This portion of track is known as the Bug Line, due to the endangered Hine's Emerald dragonfly species living nearby.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
