Remarks & Notes |
CPR had the one and only Montreal Locomotive Works RSD-17. It was MLW's bid to compete against the FM-CLC Trainmaster. It was built in 1957 and demonstrated for two years as CPR 7007, CN 3899 and Pacific Great Eastern Railway 624 before being acquired by CPR and renumbered 8921. It spent most of its life running transfers, first in Toronto and then in Montreal. In later years it had its nose chopped and was repainted in the CP Rail paint scheme. It was retired in 1995 and still exists at the Elgin County Railway Museum in St. Thomas, Ontario. The blue flags (Stop) are up on both tracks as the yard air system is being used to pump up the air in the trains. |
