Remarks & Notes |
The Eastbound Empire Builder passes False Summit on the downhill side of Marias Pass on a beautiful Fall morning. This train was first established in 1929. The Empire Builder was Great Northern's premier Chicago to Seattle/Portland train. It was named after James J. Hill, who was known as "Empire Builder" for the railroad and infrastructure he built. Today, Amtrak still uses that name for the popular passenger train. |
