Auto Train is being assembled. The train is so long that the Sanford terminal cannot accommodate all of the passenger cars in one cut, so the yard job ties on the rear half of the Superliners and Auto Carriers before the train can depart for Lorton.
Amtrak's longest train takes passengers and their vehicles on an overnight trip between Florida and the Northeast while eliminating 850 miles of driving. It is popular with snowbirds and families.
