Early on a summer's morning, locomotives 2207+2212 cruise past the disused silos at Gunningbland with a combined loaded railset and empty rake of container wagons on transfer from South Australia.
This train ran from South Australia via Broken Hill, with the rake of PQGY container wagons on transfer to Parkes where they were collected to be used on GWA/Freightliner trains around NSW.
The loaded railset was heading out to be unloaded and installed near Peak Hill, NSW with approx 14,000 tonnes of 60kg rail which was manufactured at the Liberty/OneSteel Steelworks in Whyalla, SA.
This being the first load of new rail to be installed as part of the 'Inland Rail' Project.
