Remarks & Notes |
Before roller bearings on freight cars and hotbox detectors were standard equipment the CPR special instructions stated that "Freight and mixed trains will not run, unless otherwise provided, more than 40 miles without stopping for standing train inspection." Westbound freights between Montreal's St. Luc Yard and Smiths Falls would conduct their first inspection at St. Clet after 30 miles. This manifest has activated the crossing protection so while the head end brakeman is walking the front half of the train the fireman protects the crossing. |
