At Minneola, fifteen miles east of Barstow, California, BNSF train S-OIGPEA6-10 (Intermodal Stacks; Oakland Intermodal Gateway CA to Pearland TX) heads east (with Dash 9-44CW 4607 on the rear), in the process meeting BNSF U-WQMBAR1-10 (Unit Train; West Quincy MO to Barstow CA) and, behind it, train H-SIOBAR1-05 (High Priority Merchandise; Sioux City IA to Barstow CA; CP 8158 added after it departed Amarillo TX). Eastbound S-OIGPEA is primarily intermodal, but near the rear if also has some general freight cars – could Precision Scheduled Railroading be coming to BNSF? Train U-WQMBAR, led by a single engine (BNSF ES44DC 7719) with two DPUs (BNSF Dash 9-44CWs 4670 and 4547), a trainload of coiled steel, is waiting (along with train H-SIOBAR behind it) for clearance to proceed to the yard in Barstow. Even though there is a High Priority Intermodal behind it, the steel train will get moving first, overtaking a heavy grain train to get to the yard. The intermodal will get going a while after that.
