Remarks & Notes |
The CN uses the ex-Oakways around Iowa in mainly local service. Getting a pair of them in grain train service is a bit odd. Once in awhile one might be added as a "kicker" for extra power, but rarely they get on unit trains solo. A pair was used for this Waterloo to Cedar Rapids grain train. The train has 57 grain out of Stacyville, IA, and a few odds and ends local cars on the rear end. The train is seen here just topping the 3rd hard pull out of 4 on the Cedar Rapids Sub near MP 17. This 42 miles branch south of Manchester twist and turns quite a bit giving these 2 SD60's a run for their money. |
