Train Q301 rolls south on the mainline of the old Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad. The railroad through the town of Ashland separates the north-south lanes of Center Street. At 4:33 pm an Oak Island, NJ, to Rocky Mount, NC, freight train passes the beautiful Amtrak depot as people wait for the next Amtrak train. Ashland is on the CSXT RF&P Sub and is about 15 miles north of Richmond.
