Remarks & Notes |
A Big Boy Pointing at Tehachapi. UP 4014 will likely be the first and last "Big Boy" steam locomotive to ever find itself on BNSF's Mojave Subdivision - the tracks that deposit BNSF trains at Mojave before their assault on Tehachapi Pass. Today's rare visit of a 4000 class steam locomotive comes following Union Pacific's need to turn the 23-car passenger train at Barstow before backing into the Amtrak depot. Once all passengers are off-loaded, the train will pull west out of the station before shoving back to Daggett where it will return to home rails on it's way to Yermo. |
