My father and I had high hopes for MLW-hauled passenger trains on our trip to Toronto in 1984. The FPA-4's were indeed plentiful from the renowned vantage point of the Spadina Avenue bridge. Unfortunately, the Tempo RS18s had been retired the year before, replaced by new LRCs. In the background, one such Tempo train is being pulled backwards from Toronto Union Station for servicing by one of CN's ubiquitous (at least at Spadina) MLW S13s. I hadn't noticed yet when I lensed this frame, but close inspection of the Tempo train in the photo reveals that the power for this train was not a LRC, but a CN M636! Seconds later, we noticed this unusual power and made the mad dash to the end of the bridge and back up the other side to get the shot of the M636 (we made it).
