Salina was located on a loop off MP's Pueblo main, and by the 1980s was served by local freights that were generally pretty short and typically pulled by a GP38 or two. When grain started moving, extras were run, often with 3 or 4 bigger diesels, including six-axle units. On this day the power was an SD40-2 and a GP38, spliced by an outsider - SCL GP40 6738.
