Part of the collection at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland, Oregon, is Union Pacific SW10 96. Built as SW7 1821, this engine was rebuilt by Union Pacific into SW10 1243 in November 1982. This engine was renumbered UP 96 on January 2, 1998, and reassigned to the UP’s heritage fleet (the steam program) in Cheyenne, Wyoming – and as a result, the engine wears special UP logos with numbers 844 and 3985 on them.
