Hunting for private varnish. The Amtrak Pennsylvanian (Train 42) has recently been lengthened by the addition of a baggage car. But on Sunday, November 3, 2019, it was again one more car longer as the former Pennsylvania Railroad The Catalpa Falls Group, LLC owned “Catalpa Falls” (PRR 8404 lounge/bedroom, RPCX, 800030) was along for the ride from Pittsburgh, PA to Philadelphia, PA. It is pictured here passing Hunt Tower in Huntingdon, PA as it did when it was first delivered by Pullman-Standard in 1949 and assigned to the Broadway Limited.
The electrified Northeast Corridor and Keystone Corridor have the traffic. The Pennsylvanian and Capitol Limited routed, which are all diesel, have the scenery.
