Remarks & Notes |
The first six axle on the Lititz Secondary!
NS 6326 was the first NS six axle ever to run on this branch line. Consisting of mostly switching out customers and the track being jointed rail and deferred maintenance, this EMD SD40E was a little out of its place. Usually GP38-2s work the line, but a six axle is unusual to be seen. It was interesting to see 6326 switching out cars out of Johnson & Johnson and doing almost 15 mph on jointed rail track. J & J gets tank cars filled with Alcohol for products like mouthwash and other things they produce. There was also a huge cut of bulkheads full of aluminum for a plant in Lancaster. The photo above shows 6326 going long hood forward towards Manheim just past Kreider's farm. |
